Nevada Attorney Be Careful When You Talk To An Insurance Company Adjuster After You Were In A Car Accident In Nevada

You should be wary of discussing the accident with the other driver's insurance company. It is not a good idea to give an oral statement to the other driver's insurance company if you are not doing so with a Nevada attorney present to monitor the conversation. If the other driver's insurance company contacts you - you can restrict the conversation to a discussion about the repair of your car (this can often be handled without the help of a lawyer because the auto repair process is usually prompt and fair). If the adjuster starts to talk about the facts of the accident, you can politely refuse to discuss the facts. Be careful because some insurance companies may train their claims adjusters to get you to give them information which can damage your auto accident claim. You can easily tell the adjuster: "I'm not ready to discuss the accident at this time." An insurance company adjuster may try to get you to admit fault for the car accident in Nevada. An insurance adjuster may try to get you to say you weren't hurt or that your injuries were not too severe. An insurance company representative may try to discourage you from filing a lawsuit in Nevada by telling you that you do not have a good case. An insurance adjuster may get you to discuss prior injuries in order to establish that your pain is due to your old injuries and not due to the injuries you sustained in the car wreck which happened in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas or any other town in Nevada. The investigator may tell you that if you hire a Nevada Attorney, you'll get less money in the end, because of the Nevada Lawyer's fees. These are some of the possible tactics that the insurance company may use if you discuss the accident with an adjuster or investigator without consulting a Nevada Attorney about your legal rights when you were involved in a Nevada car accident. Proceed with caution if the insurance company adjuster starts to discuss any of the following: if a problem with your car could have caused the auto accident - if you failed to wear a seatbelt - the fact that there were no witnesses - whether you asked for or needed medical care at the accident scene - the length of time you waited to get medical treatment - any prior injuries you may have had - how the damage to your car was only minor - how you didn't say you were hurt at the accident scene - who was responsible for the auto accident. Proceed with caution when an insurance adjuster tries to convince you to settle your Nevada auto accident claim without using a Nevada personal injury lawyer. You can settle your Nevada car accident claim in this manner, but you should be aware that no matter how nice the insurance adjuster may seem, the adjuster is looking out for the best interest of the insurance company - and not looking out for you!
